    A rare opportunity has become available to join our Darwin operations as a Workshop Supervisor!

    As the Workshop Supervisor, you will be responsible for the repairs and maintenance of Northline’s fleet of heavy Vehicles, light vehicles, trailing equipment and fixed plant in Darwin as well as providing support and guidance to the Workshop team.

    As the Workshop Supervisor your duties will include:

    • Ensure all workshop staff, contractors and visitors adhere to Northline’s OH&S requirements while keeping the work environment safe and free from and potential risks.
    • Work closely with the Fleet Supervisor to schedule maintenance and servicing of vehicles and trailers as per the Gearbox Maintenance Management system, as well as prioritising emergency repairs and breakdowns.
    • Manage the maintenance of all workshop equipment e.g. vehicle-lifts, welders, grinders, presses, forklift etc.
    • Provide on-the-job training as well as coaching and mentoring to mechanics, apprentices and other outside contractors.
    • Ensure final check/test driving is completed by qualified personnel for all hauling and trailing equipment prior to return to work.
    • Forecast and control of stock levels for workshop consumables, identification and ordering of the correct parts for workshop repair jobs.
    • In conjunction with the Maintenance Co-ordinator manage all outsourced work, including the scope of work, quoting and quality control of all work performed.
    • Perform trouble shooting and diagnostics on vehicles and equipment.
    • Plan and organise the Preventive Maintenance System in accordance with the NHVR parameters, delegate specific tasks to ensure compliance with the regulator.

     

     

    As a successful candidate you will have:

    • Extensive experience in Mobile Equipment Maintenance.
    • Full understanding of vehicle standards, NHVAS Regulations and the Maintenance Management component.
    • Well-honed leadership and supervisory skills with an ability to motivate others.
    • HR Driver’s Licence.
    • Engineering Trade Qualification, preferably Heavy-Duty Truck Mechanic or Diesel Fitter or equivalent.
    • Experience with trucks including: Kenworth, Mac, Volvo, Freightliner, Hino, UD Nissan & Mitsubishi.
    • Experience with trailers including: Vaudry & GMC Tautliners, Flat-tops, skels & Fridge vans.
    • Experience with engines including: Caterpillar C-15 & C-16, Cummins, Volvo, Hino & UD Nissan.
