The primary role of this position is to facilitate the effective movement of Northline’s customer’s international freight. You will work in a tight knit team and report to the IFM Operations Manager.
Your Duties Include:
Arranging wharf cartage for shipments arriving by air and sea, planning the most appropriate route for deliveries to and from wharves, de-consolidators and airports for an import / export shipment;
Registering documents using CargoWise and lodging clearance documents;
Liaising with shipping lines, airlines, wharves, Australian Customs and Quarantine;
Obtaining, checking and preparing documentation to meet Australian road-transport requirements;
Maintaining current knowledge of relevant road-transport legislation and other factors that could affect the movement of freight;
Compliance with all regulations prescribed by Australian Customs, DAFF and other Governing bodies;
Coordinating deliveries for FCL, LCL and Airfreight shipments
Communicating with and updating clients
Liaising with internal department to ensure efficient deliveries
Arranging national deliveries and coordinating availability with transport depots
Ensuring all Customs and quarantine requirements are met and liaising with Customs regarding inspections and holds
Facilitating a smooth flow of cargo by regular liaison with service providers, internal departments and clients
Pre-alert clients of arrival and delivery plans
Request, monitor and process payment of invoices
Monitoring and coordinating return of empty containers
Collating clearance and transport documentation for timely deliveries
Maintain communication and control through all phases of the journey, including production of management reports and statistical cost analysis; and
Ensure Sales Executives and Account Managers understand the International service offering so they are able to discuss with new and current customers.
To be Considered
Proven experience in Cartage in FCL, LCL or Airfreight
Great organisation and time management
Experience in Cartage Coordination
Specialised knowledge of the International Freight Forwarding industry;
Demonstrate a high-level knowledge of the freight industry or related industry experience in a similar role;
Have absolute integrity, trustworthiness and professionalism;
Sound business acumen;
Strong written and oral communication skills (excellent listening skills);
Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint; and
Self-driven in relation to performance development both in terms of selling skills and company knowledge.
